Long Harbour, August 12-16 2021

Back to Long Harbour this week...

Some weeks there is just so much plastic, it’s hard to know where to begin.  Shawn and Andrew removed an estimated 5000 lbs of plastic debris this week near Long Harbour! Tires, plastic buckets, fish pans, vat covers, styrofoam buoys, drag net, plastic shovels, foam carpet underpad, 1000 lbs of rope, a VCR, a bale of plastic strapping, tarpaulins and plastic sheeting, SO MANY broken bleach bottles, plastic barrels, hoses, and a surprising number (at least 10) milk crates and bread crates.

How did bread crates get in the ocean? Your guess is as good as ours!
