Bay of Islands clean up with ACAP-Humber Arm

CHI and ACAP - Humber Arm join forces in Bay of Islands

During the week of May 9-13, CHI joined forces with ACAP-Humber Arm to remove an estimated 900 lbs of tires from Cox’s Cove and 600 lbs of  tires from Frenchman’s Cove. What else did we find? Lobster traps, bilge pumps, bikes, plastic bags, an old mattress, PVC piping …and a typewriter! We can only imagine that someone must have had a bad case of writer’s block and tossed it in the ocean in a fit of frustration. In total, an estimated 2600lbs of marine debris was removed.
