Long Harbour Clean Up

Buoy oh Buoy!  Big week of clean up in Long Harbour for Shawn and Andrew! They retrieved 80 good buoys (contact us if you’d like to purchase) , 30 broken buoys, 75 broken fish pans, 1000 lbs of rope, bottles and cans, 15 tires, plastic bait jars, partial nets, and about 1000 pc of broken bleach bottles.  Bleach bottles should never be used as a buoy, they simply do not hold up to sun and weather and quickly end up as tiny plastic fragments all along our coast.  So many old nets half buried in vegetation and dirt, we won’t be able to remove all of them ourselves on this trip. This appears to be a “collector beach”, with most of the plastic blowing in from the sea and becoming trapped on shore..
