The donation of a new boat will help the Clean Harbour Initiative in ridding the water in and around the province of trash.
The 26-foot fiberglass boat was donated by the family of Lindsay Petten, a fellow diver, fishermen, and environmentalist who lost his life during a scuba diving accident in the waters off Bareneed just before Christmas last year.
I am sharing this with Ron Cross and his M.E.R.V. boat project. Ron is Canadian living in Australia, but back and forth here in Ontario ( now Sarnia based) who has a Multiple Emergency Recovery Vehicle he designed and has two prototypes existing. One is working off coast near Brownsville, TX at the moment, but coming to Canada to show and tell.
